Robert B. GilliesSt. Clair Twp.Robert B. Gillies, 85, of St. Clair Twp., passed away on October 21, 2016 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab after a long illness with his family by his side. He was born on October 2, 1931 in Detroit, son of the late John and Euphemia Gillies.Robert married Evelyn Bailey on September 20, 1952 in Detroit.He served honorably in the United States Coast Guard and volunteered on the Huron Light Ship. Robert graduated from Denby High School in 1949 and retired after 30 plus years from General Motors. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason.Robert is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gillies of St. Clair Twp.; son and daughter-in-law, John (Becky) of Richmond; son, Kirk Gillies of Fort Gratiot; grandchildren: Katie (Dennis) Stuckey; John II (Sarah) Gillies and Corey Gillies; great-grandchildren: Emily and Logan Gillies.A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. @ 17th Street, Port Huron.The Rev.
