On June 9, 2024, the world lost a beloved Freeport resident, Solange Monestime, who passed away at the age of 70. Born on June 22, 1953, Solange lived a vibrant and full life in the beautiful Bahamas.

Solange was the daughter of Leon and Monestime, and she was married to her loving spouse Jean for 44 years. Together, they raised four wonderful children - Lou, Murlene, Kiki, and James. Solange adored her family and was a pillar of strength and love for them.

She was a proud graduate of St. Mary's High School, where she made lifelong friends and cherished memories. Solange had a passion for gardening, baking, and spending time with her family at the beach.

Those who knew Solange will remember her infectious laughter, warm hugs, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
