Stanley F. Girard, age 69, of Greenbush died on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 in Oscoda. He was born on Dec. 2, 1943 in Essex County, Ontario, Canada to the late Leonard and Leola Girard (nee Bondy). Stan lived in the Oscoda area for over 40 years. He and his wife, Donna, owned and operated Stan Girard Excavating and formerly owned Oscoda Septic. He enjoyed boating, NASCAR and watching classic movies. Stan married his wife, Donna, on March 10, 1971 in Oscoda. She survived him until the time of her death only three days later after a courageous battle with cancer. He is also survived by six children, Paul Girard of Farmington Hills, Steven (Patti) Girard of Belle River, Ontario, Gary (Tina) Girard of Belle River, Ontario, Garnelle (Jake) Trembay of Stoney Pointe, Ontario, Tammy Babion-Yancer of Merrill and Michael Babion of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Warren Yancer, Tara Dombrowski, Mindy Yancer, Jeanette Yancer, Michael Babion, Scott Babion, Stephanie Girard, Rachel Girard and Joy Trembay; and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Nathan. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Girard; and granddaughter, Jacqueline Girard. A celebration of Stan's and Donna's lives was held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda with Rev. Briony Desotell officiating.
