Stellave Sue Foust (nee Smith), of Tawas City, formerly of Flint, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility in Tawas City, age 96 years. Stellave was born on Dec. 9, 1916 in Little Rock, Ark. to Walter and Beulah (nee Gothard) Smith. She graduated from high school, and later began her employment at the A/C Spark Plug Company in Flint where she worked with the assembly of speedometers for many years. Stellave will be remembered for her love of quilting, sewing and needlepoint crafts. She was a very active woman who enjoyed socializing and helping people. She volunteered for 30 years at the Iosco County Medical Care Facility helping in many different resident care departments. She was also a longtime member of Hemlock Road Baptist Church in Tawas City. Stellave is survived by her three grandchildren, Mark (Renee') Foust, Michelle (Rob) Schnepp and Crystal (Don) Brooks; great grandchildren, Elliott Schnepp, Olivia Harold, Judy Baker, Leslie Baley, Sharie Brooks and Zachary Foust. Stellave was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Foust, to whom she married on July 27, 1935; a son, Jack Foust; and two sisters, Joy Black, and Mozelle Mayle. Her family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Stan Lightfoot officiating. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Iosco County Medical Care Facility in her honor.
