Susan Ruth Hauge, age 65, of National City and East Tawas, former resident of Chicago and Western Springs, Ill., died at her home on July 26, 2011. She was born on Sept. 18, 1945 in San Francisco, Calif., the daughter of Clarence and Phyllis (nee Southern) Hauge. Susan worked for Rush Medical School in Chicago before moving to East Tawas in 1980 to manage the office of Dr. Richard Kaiserman. In 1990, she began working with Butch Mochty Builders as a residential design/build contractor. She loved gardening and artwork and she loved all animals especially dogs and horses. Susan is survived by her brother, Thomas Hauge (and Christine Rossen) of Seattle, Wash. and was preceded in death by her parents. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and private services with burial will be held at Mount Greenwood Cemetery in Chicago, Ill. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Iosco County Animal Shelter, 3881 W. M-55 Tawas City, MI 48763. Cremation arrangements were handled by Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
