Morgan, Uriah Albert 87, died unexpectedly on February 15, 2017. Al was born on May 26, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa, the fifth child of Charles Morgan and Helen Hoebelheinrich. Al graduated from Trinity Prep in Sioux City where he participated in track and boxing and enlisted in the Navy at age 17. After his service, he attended De Paul University and graduated from the
University of Iowa College of Law in 1956. During law school, Al married Beverly Huth, also of Sioux City, and their first child, Barbara, was born in Iowa City. After graduation, Al and Beverly settled in Sioux City where AL began his law practice. Four more children, Max, Mark, Nancy, and Jane were born there. In 1968, the Morgan family relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. Al began working as an attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in 1969 and moved to the Attorney General's Office in 1970. He retired in 1990 from that position. Al was a fitness and sport enthusiast and passed this passion to his children and grandchildren. He was an original member of the Arizona Marathon Society and ran his first marathon at age 50. More recently, Al and Beverly were regulars at the fitness center at Scottsdale Community College where they made many friends. Al is survived by his wife, Beverly Morgan, four of his children, Barbara Rees (Brian), Mark Morgan (Allegra), Nancy Bollinger (Steve), and Jane Badger (Jim), his brothers, Ray and Sam Morgan, and his sister, Barbara Frances Meier. He was preceded in death by his son, Max Morgan, his parents, his sisters, Ruth Melentovich and Adeline Uhl, and his brother, Jim Morgan. AL leaves behind nine grandchildren: Steven, Carolyn, Emily, Patrick, Zoe, Anna, Thalia, Kai, and Blaze and eight great grandchildren: Logan, Ryan, Gracie, Hunter, Parker, Charlotte, Ellie, and Felix, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private funeral is planned for the family. A reception honoring Al's life will be held at a later date. Please contact the family for details.
