Virginia G. JohnstonSt. HelenVirginia G. Johnston, age 84, of St. Helen, passed away on March 19,2017.She was born on November 17, 1932, in Port Hope, to the late Charles and Grace Sommers. She later married Eugene C. Johnston, on November 11, 1950, in Port Hope. Eugene passed away on May 20, 2013.Jenny and Eugene enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and also enjoyed the pontoon boat.She is survived by her daughter, Linda Traub (Dennis Meyers) of Croswell, daughter, Marilyn Benson of Brandenburg, Kentucky, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother, Charles (Pat) Sommers of Coopersville, and several nieces and nephews.Jenny is preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Thomas, Beverly Zick, Doris Sommers, Leona Klein, brothers, Ira Sommers and Calvin Sommers, and 2 daughters, Shirley Ann Johnston and Carolyn Reifert.Funeral services will be 9:30am Thursday, March 23, 2017, in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron. Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
