Janie Murphy of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 62. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 26, 1961, to her loving parents the late Richard Byrne and Doelors Proctor Byrne. She was one of five siblings, sister Becky Neiman, the late sister Marta Dougherty, brother Bill (spouse Charisse) Byrne, brother Michael (spouse Emiko) Byrne and many nieces and nephews.

Janie is survived by her partner Jimmy Lawson. Her two children Kelli Breighner (spouse Robert Breighner) and Kristin O’Keefe, and her four adored grandchildren Gavin O’Keefe, Brooke O’Keefe, Landon Breighner, and Isabella O’Keefe.

Janie will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, kind heart, and love for life. She brought joy to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. She loved warm weather, being outdoors, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, in her memory. A celebration of life will be held at a later time, daughters will keep friends and family updated on arrangements.

Rest in peace, Janie. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
